Looking for a different format?

If you have some flexibility, instead of a traditional speech with slides consider:

  • Adding audience activities to increase engagement (see Section 1, "Active and Collaborative Learning," of this paper on "Suggested Strategies for Student Engagement" for examples)
  • Using PechaKucha or another method your audience may not have seen before. (From the website: "PechaKucha 20x20 is a simple presentation format where you show 20 images, each for 20 seconds. The images advance automatically and you talk along to the images.")
  • Be creative!
