EVALUATING YOUR SOURCES - THE CRAAP TEST

Does your article pass the CRAAP test?

An extremely important part of the research process is evaluating your sources.  For each source, you want to answer questions such as:

  1. Is it current enough or is the date not important?
  2. Is it relevant to your research topic?
  3. Who is the author and what is their expertise and authority in the topic area?
  4. Does the information look accurate? How can you tell?
  5. What is the purpose of the information. Is the information biased?  How can you tell?
