Search for books in the library

Quick search:

or go to the full catalog: EdCC Library Catalog

1. Try a keyword search on your career occupation.
    Examples are:
         -chef
         -lawyer
         -early childhood education teacher
         -therapist
         -law enforcement officer
         -physician
         -dentist

2.  Write down the call number of your book so you can find it on the shelves.  Here is a map of the library.

3.  The books are in order by Library of Congress Classification system which tells you the subject of each book.

4.  The Circulating books (the ones you can check out and take home) are on the west side of the library.

5.  The Reference books (the ones you use in the library) are on the east side of the library by the computers.

Search tip:
Truncation Symbol: ?
Use truncation to increase your search.  If you place a ? at the end of your root word you will get all of the endings.
Example: therap?  will get all records with the words therapy, therapist, therapists, etc.

Record viewing tip:

View records in descending date order to see the most current books in the library's collection.

Local Public libraries

You can also look for books at your local public library.  They have great collections of fiction books.  Check out their catalogs by using the links below. (Be sure to sign up for a library card, if you don't already have one!)

Can't find a book at Edmonds?

Broaden your search beyond our library and use the WorldCat-OCLC catalog to search for books in libraries throughout Washington State (and worldwide).  When you find a book, we can request it for you through Inter-Library Loan (ILL) and have it sent to Edmonds CC library for you to pick up.  (A TIP:  ILL can take up to two weeks for a book to arrive so start your research early!)
