CMST& 101: Introduction to Communication Studies with Erin Davison: Academic Research

What is academic research?

Academic research is about inquiry.  It is more than simply collecting evidence or facts and reporting back the information.  Research is about asking questions and using critical thinking and reflection to develop new ideas, perspectives, and arguments.  When you conduct research, you become a part of the ongoing (written) conversation that is taking place on a particular subject or topic.
