LGBTQ+: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer+ Pride: Welcome

June is LGBTQ+ Pride Month

June commemorates the anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, six days of street confrontations between members of the LGBT community and the New York City police. which began in response to a police raid of the Stonewall Inn during the early morning of June 28, 1969.  The uprising is considered the galvanizing moment in the nationwide movement for LGBTQ+ rights and against hate and discrimination.

We are seeing increasing attacks - legal and extralegal - on the LGBTQ+ community, with a heavy focus on the rights of trans youth. Explore our resource guide to learn about the history, culture, contributions and impact of LGBTQ+ people.
