Service Learning: Social Justice: Gender Socialization

"She/Her/They/Them celebrates the work of women and gender non-conforming identifying artists. A varied body of works, ideas related to gender norms, expectations, and systems of identifying are explored with humor, strength, and compassion."

"How is feminism expressed? What forms does feminism take on a personal level (by an individual) or on a larger scale (by a society)? How does gender inequality intersect with injustices related to race, ethnicity, religion, age, or other markers of identity (visible or invisible)? What tactics have artists used to confront gender inequality?"

“Trigger: Gender as a Tool and a Weapon” investigates gender’s place in contemporary art and culture at a moment of political upheaval and renewed culture wars. The exhibition features an intergenerational group of artists who explore gender beyond the binary to usher in more fluid and inclusive expressions of identity.

The mission of the Ferris Museum of Sexist Objects is to be a leader in raising awareness and inspiring activism in response to everyday items that promote sexism, gendered violence, and female stereotypes. The Museum provides a learning environment that encourages scholarly dialogue and fosters research.
